Senior Content Management System Specialist

Role Summary:  We are seeking a skilled Senior Content Management System (CMS) Specialist to play a critical role in producing policy, learning and wellness solutions-- policy manuals, e-learning courses, app content, and related collateral—for public safety officials. This role sits within the Content Quality and Operations Team. The Sr. CMS Specialist coordinates the publishing of content within Lexipol’s platforms, with hands-on responsibility to author, test, and publish content, as well as responsibility to optimize the publication workflow. The Sr. CMS Specialist partners with colleagues across CQO and the broader Content team to help ensure that all content within Lexipol’s solutions meets the highest standards of clarity, accuracy, and relevance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Use Lexipol’s proprietary content management system to publish policy content efficiently and accurately.
  • Apply AP and in-house style guidelines rigorously in all editing, proofreading, and publication tasks.
  • Ensure content is accessible and formatted correctly.
  • Use Microsoft Word to review and manage documents with precision according to workflow requirements.
Coordinate tracking of data needed for key performance metrics related to content production, and support reporting of it.
  • Collaborate effectively with Content team members, including program managers, editors, lawyers, and public safety content developers, to gather insights and provide feedback that optimizes the publication workflow and enhances content quality.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, working under tight deadlines without compromising on quality or accuracy.
  • Train other employees to work within Lexipol’s content management platform effectively and troubleshoot technical issues that other users encounter.  

Skills and Qualifications
  • Excellent knowledge of standard English, with proven editing, proofreading, and content testing skills.
  • Familiarity with AP style.
  • Proficient in content management systems and capable of publishing and testing content within such platforms.
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of HTML/XML and CSS, and UX principles for digital content.
  • Experience with Wrike, Trello, Confluence, JIRA, or other similar workflow management systems.
  • Ability to balance speed with meticulous attention to detail; thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume operation.
  • Strong collaboration skills, with experience working alongside legal professionals and public safety experts preferred.
  • Innately curious, constantly seeking out new knowledge and experiences, with the confidence to experiment with new technology and technical capabilities in support of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Information Systems, Information Management, or related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in content production or publication, information systems management, or a related field.
