The Work

The Sales Engineer will serve as a vital technical and functional product expert within the sales organization, reporting directly to the Head of Sales Enablement. This individual will work closely with Sales, Solutions/Product, Marketing, Professional Services, and Sales Leadership to help drive revenue growth and enhance product knowledge across the sales team. They will participate in sales calls, coach and support sales reps, and provide strategic feedback based on market interactions and internal tools like Gong, HighSpot, and Salesforce.

This is done through working in these areas of focus:

Sales Support & Enablement (40%)

  • Attend 5–10 high-value sales calls weekly to support Strategic Account Executives (SAEs) and Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) in articulating Lexipol's product capabilities and technical integrations.
  • Proactively anticipate technical questions and prepare tailored responses to align Lexipol’s solutions with customer-specific pain points, workflows, and outcomes.
  • Act as a go-to expert across Lexipol’s full suite of solutions—including policy management, wellness, training, performance reporting, and grant assistance—helping stakeholders connect functionality to measurable ROI.
  • Help increase deal velocity by leading or co-leading product walkthroughs and technical deep dives for decision-makers and technical buyers.
  • Troubleshoot customer objections and propose clear, technically feasible solutions to support the sales team in closing complex deals.
  • Partner with Sales Enablement to onboard new sales reps by providing structured walkthroughs of technical content, demo scenarios, and objection handling techniques.
  • Identify skill gaps or technical misalignment in sales conversations and provide rapid feedback or micro-trainings to drive performance improvement.

Coaching & Feedback (25%)

  • Analyze sales call recordings using Gong to assess technical fluency, messaging accuracy, and buyer engagement; deliver individualized coaching plans based on insights.
  • Conduct post-call debriefs with sales reps to discuss technical strengths, improvement areas, and upcoming opportunities for strategic alignment.
  • Create and maintain a repository of best practices, frequently asked questions, and battle cards tailored to different sales personas and industry verticals.
  • Design and deliver monthly enablement sessions focused on specific technical sales topics—e.g., “Selling to IT buyers,” “Positioning integrations,” or “Handling security objections.”
  • Collaborate closely with Sales Enablement to evolve the training curriculum, ensuring consistent upskilling of SDRs and SAEs based on market shifts and product updates.
  • Maintain a continuous feedback loop with team leads to help prioritize future training initiatives and product-focused sales content.

Product Intelligence & Testing (20%)

  • Participate in product sprint reviews and quarterly solution testing to stay informed on product updates, emerging capabilities, and any potential technical debt.
  • Serve as a liaison between the sales and product teams by capturing market-facing feedback during calls and submitting recommendations for feature enhancements or user experience improvements.
  • Partner with Product Marketing to ensure technical sales content—pitch decks, demo scripts, onboarding guides, competitive one-pagers—is current, compelling, and customized for diverse audience needs.
  • Lead internal workshops to train sales on newly released features and updates, with emphasis on competitive differentiation and technical relevance to public safety customers.

Research & Reporting (15%)

  • Compile and deliver monthly insights reports to Sales Enablement and leadership teams, synthesizing findings from customer conversations, Gong analytics, and CRM data to inform training and strategy.
  • Conduct competitive intelligence reviews by researching peer platforms, analyzing lost deals, and surfacing trends related to integration capabilities, pricing models, or solution gaps.
  • Track trends in customer usage patterns, feedback from demos, and field intelligence to advise on product-market fit and refine GTM messaging.
  • Create internal visibility dashboards or summaries that highlight common objections, technical wins, and areas where customers are particularly impressed or challenged.

Requirements: To be considered for this role, you will have this experience:

  • 5-8 years of experience in a product-focused role, preferably in SaaS companies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering/computer science or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Strong technical background with hands on experience in Software development lifecycle.
  • Proficient in Salesforce CRM and familiar with common sales tech stack tools (e.g., Gong, SalesLoft, ZoomInfo).
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and feedback skills.
  • Highly coachable with a continuous learning mindset.
  • Strong ability to bridge technical details with business value propositions.
  • Prior experience participating in or supporting a sales process; direct sales experience a plus.
  • Comfortable with research, analysis, and reporting findings in a clear, actionable manner.
  • Master all Lexipol solutions to effectively support the sales process.
  • Act as a technical and functional expert on product capabilities, limitations, and integration points.
  • Join sales calls to assist SAEs in addressing technical questions, driving deeper solution alignment, and helping close deals.
  • Provide coaching and actionable feedback to sales reps to improve technical discovery and solution selling.
  • Utilize Salesforce and the broader sales tech stack to track activities, update opportunities, and report outcomes.
  • Conduct post-call reviews using Gong recordings and other tools to surface coaching opportunities and product/market feedback.
  • Report key findings and insights to Sales Leadership, Marketing, and Solutions/Product teams to inform go-to-market strategy and product improvements.
  • Assist in technical testing of SaaS solutions to maintain a strong understanding of system functionality and updates.
  • Contribute to the creation and updating of technical sales materials and FAQs.
  • Conduct research as needed to support sales efforts, customer insights, and competitive positioning.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working directly with public safety, government, or compliance-driven industries.
  • Familiarity with Lexipol's suite of solutions or similar platforms.
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to simplify complex topics for non-technical audiences.

  • Product Mastery: Complete solution certifications for all Lexipol solutions within the first 90 days.
  • Sales Support: Join 5-10 sales calls weekly to support product/technical questions.
  • Coaching: Deliver post-call feedback and contribute to SDR/SAE coaching sessions.
  • Reporting: Weekly report to Head of Sales Enablement summarizing call insights, product feedback, and enablement recommendations.
  • Research: Monthly insights report using Gong call analysis and Salesforce data.
  • Collaboration: Ongoing collaboration with Product, Marketing, Professional Services, Engineering and Sales to ensure sales messaging aligns with product capabilities.
  • Testing: Participate in quarterly solution testing to maintain technical proficiency.

Compensation and Benefits

Lexipol offers a competitive base salary, monthly, quarterly, or annual incentive and a comprehensive benefits package including 401(k) with Company match and a flexible paid time off plan.

The base compensation starts from $100K + Annual Bonus
