The Work
The Learning Content Team is responsible for the creation and development of all learning and training content across all Lexipol vertical academies, including PoliceOne, Corrections1, FireRescue1, EMS1, Dispatch1, and Local Government University. Learning content consists of a variety of course types: single video courses, training blocks, and full-length courses. Our team develops eLearning with the help of subject matter experts and is vetted for policy consistency by our policy and legal teams. Courses are developed based on nationwide standards and best practices while also incorporating state and federal laws and regulations where appropriate.


Our courses are also certified and accredited through certified training providers (20 states) and accepted for continuing education credits in 23 states. Several of our courses in the library are also approved by the International Association of Director of Law Enforcement Standards and Training (IADLEST) National Certification Program (NCP). This role will report to the Video Production Manager.

The Video Content Creator role is a creative, self-directed editor/producer who can transform scripts and ideas into visually compelling educational videos. You will collaborate closely with instructional designers (IDs), subject-matter experts (SMEs), and the wider content team, guiding each project from storyboard to final deliverables.

This role is not only pivotal to high-quality educational content delivery—it also drives engagement, retention, and brand trust across Lexipol’s learning platforms. You will shape how public safety professionals absorb critical knowledge in high-stakes environments.

Editing and Video Content Creation (35%)
  • Craft polished edits in Adobe Premiere Pro, maintaining narrative flow and technical accuracy.
  • Design and animate motion graphics—or any requested animations—using Premiere Pro or After Effects to enrich visual storytelling.
  • Contribute to content strategy by advising on story structure, visual hierarchy, and optimal learning modalities for video-based instruction.
  • Complete the finishing pass: color grading, audio sweetening, effects integration, and a meticulous final review to secure approval.
  • Produce and edit high-quality video content that aligns with pacing, on-screen text, and visual standards.
  • Leverage Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects and the broader Adobe Creative Cloud to craft polished edits, animations, and graphics.
  • Incorporate assets created with AI tools and maintain originality and brand consistency.

Asset Collection and Management (35%)
  • Source licensed video, photography, music, and other media from Getty Images, Envato, and comparable libraries.
  • Curate and structure assets in disciplined project-folder hierarchies, maintaining redundant backups and long-term archives to safeguard version history.
  • Produce AI-driven visuals—stills or motion—using platforms such as ChatGPT, Flora, and other generative AI tools to broaden creative possibilities.
  • Establish scalable video templates and reusable asset libraries to streamline production workflows and support consistency across learning products.


Pre-Production and Content Development (10%)
  • Collaborate with Instructional Designer(s) or SMEs to develop ideas, script, and asset allocation and creation.
  • Select graphical elements, motion design styles and AI-generated assets in consultation with the content team.
  • Plan and participate in field shoots when needed (talent, crew, locations, schedules).
  • Partner with IDs to finalize scripts and develop detailed storyboards.

Project Management (10%)
  • Own multiple projects of varying complexity—tracking milestones, managing resources, and ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Deliver final videos to the Video Production Manager, IDs and SMEs for review and launch.

Misc. (10%): Miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Video Production Manager. 

Requirements: To be considered for this role, you will bring this experience to the role:
  • Professional Expertise-Education
    • Over five years of demonstrated success in video content creation and delivering high-quality video content.
    • Strong visual and narrative sensibility; adept at pacing, on-screen text, and graphic integration.
    • Professional experience managing entire video workflows, from concept to publishing.
 
  • Technical Skills
    • At least 5 years using Adobe Premier Pro exclusively:  You are highly efficient & proficient with Adobe Premiere Pro and the Adobe Creative Suite. Your skills have been developed from your long-term daily usage of these tools.
    • Manage dynamic workflows between After Effects, Premiere, and other Adobe products to enable a fully integrated post-production pipeline.
    • Familiarity with AI image & video creation/production tools and techniques.
    • Self-starter, confident in making creative decisions in alignment with our brand style.
    • Highly efficient in managing & completing multiple tasks with varying complexity in multiple projects per month.
    • Creativity: from concept creation to scene transition in videos, to overall design & packaging that increases user interaction and optimizes user retention.
 
  • Project & Communication Skills
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively juggle multiple projects under tight deadlines.
    • Exceptional organizational and self-management skills.
    • Talent for translating complex or abstract ideas from experts into engaging visual stories.

Preferred Skills:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Radio-Television-Film (RTF), Communications, or a closely related field.
    • Experience with programs like DaVinci Resolve, Envato, Flora, etc. is a plus.
    • Experience with AI video generation software (ex. Synthesia) a plus.
    • Field-production aptitude (camera, lighting, audio) and coordination of small production crews is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits
Lexipol offers a competitive base salary, monthly or annual incentive, and a comprehensive benefits package including 401(k) with company match and a flexible paid time off plan.
Compensation for this role includes a base salary of $75k to $85k, depending on experience, plus opportunity for an annual bonus.
