Beginning as a part-time role, with 20-25 hours per week, this role will convert to Full-Time by end of calendar year 2025.

The Work
Lexipol’s legal and compliance team supports all corporate functions as well as all operational teams.
We work directly with Lexipol’s Sales and Customer Success teams to ensure they have the legal knowledge and resources to successfully contract with clients. Our clients are local first responder agencies, including police, sheriff departments, Fire & Rescue departments, EMS departments, local corrections (city & county jails), as well as local city, town, and county governments.
We enjoy daily communications with procurement professionals at these local first responder agencies.
The Contracts Specialist will serve as the conduit between Lexipol's sales and customer success teams and our legal & compliance team, ensuring smooth and efficient handling of contracts. This role requires a background in working with contracts in a legal environment, ideally within the public or government sector. The Contracts Specialist will be highly organized, responsive, and able to communicate effectively and positively. While most communication will be internal, customer interaction will occur, requiring high clarity, rapport building, concise communication, both written (90%) and verbal.
This will be done through working in these areas of focus:
Accurate and Timely responses regarding contracts (40%)
Contract Tracking (40%)
Subject Matter Expertise on public agency procurement (20%)

The Contracts Specialist will be highly organized, responsive, and able to communicate effectively and positively. This will be done through working in these areas of focus:
Accurate and Timely responses regarding contracts (40%)
- Speak and email regularly with our Sales and Customer Success team members.
- Own the [email protected] email address. This is a catch-all for any customer contract-related questions and inquiries.
Contract Tracking (40%)
- Project Management. We view each contract as an individual contract.
- We utilize Asana for project management.
Subject Matter Expertise on public agency procurement (20%)
- Quickly review, understand, and communicate procurement requirements to key stakeholders.
- Continue to develop subject matter expertise as procurement standards change over time, particularly related to SaaS.
Requirements: To be considered for this role, you will have this experience:
- Minimum of 3 years, prefer 5 years of experience working with contracts in a legal environment, preferably in the public or government sector.
- Strong understanding of contract law and legal terminology.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Project Management and project management software experience.
- Proficiency with writing AI prompts for legal use with ChatGPT or Microsoft CoPilot.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Adobe Acrobat Pro, and contract management software.
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
Target Outcomes/ Target Results
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the sales and customer success teams during the contracting process.
- Review, edit, and draft contracts (only at direction of counsel - no independent legal knowledge or analysis is needed) to ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams to address contract-related inquiries and issues.
- Maintain organized records of all contracts and related documentation.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with internal teams and customers.
- Provide timely responses to contract-related requests and inquiries.
- Assist in the development and implementation of contract management processes and procedures.
